About the Workshop:

This practical workshop explores how to make reading time more purposeful, responsive, and student-centred through the intentional use of mini lessons and small groups. Grounded in research from Jennifer Serravallo and Erin Kent Consulting (EKC), participants will unpack the mini-lesson structure and watch a model lesson video demonstrating both a mini-lesson and a responsive small group shaped by student needs and informed by pre-assessment. Teachers will leave with clear planning tools, templates, and immediately applicable strategies to increase engagement and better support diverse readers.
