Abstract: In this workshop you will be introduced to a series of strategies which can help improve literacy. Drama is a powerful tool for developing language ability. Not only has it been shown to be effective for improving academic results, but it is also positively received by students.
In this workshop you will understand how drama can be employed across the curriculum to
1. Deepen understanding of key concepts.
2. Reinforce learning through kinaesthetic embodied knowing.
3. Leverage natural curiosity and social learning to improve literacy.
4. Allow students to demonstrate their understanding and practice language.

6. Give opportunity for students to be heard, thereby valuing their input and giving them feelings of validation and participation in the learning process.
As AI becomes more and more sophisticated, literacy becomes increasingly important. Writing the correct prompts, proof-reading computer-generated output and distinguishing between authentic and malicious texts are skills which will become more and more relevant.
