Abstract:   Educational drama is different from drama education. It has many practical classroom applications for teaching curricular material.  Educational drama is an effective teaching tool that allows students to participate, demonstrate, and observe in a non-threatening environment.  At the same time, it helps students develop their creativity and confidence in the expression of their ideas. It also teaches students acceptance of and positive response to criticism, and cooperation with others. Educational drama has many pedagogical approaches. In this 30 minutes’ presentation, I will introduce different kinds of drama conventions such as readers’ theatre, process drama techniques, role play, puppetry, etc., and most importantly, how these can be integrated effectively in classroom teaching.
