Theme: How to use computers and devices to level the playing field in art
60 minutes
Abstract: Is it easier to learn artistic techniques or have artistic ideas? In this session I’ll be showing how I use computers and devices to level the playing field in art (something I’ve been working on through my career); the numerous example lessons will include digital work, photography techniques, as well as paintings. Students who lack the technical skill to create outstanding portfolio pieces can realize their ideas (and get new ones) with their computers. And while I won’t underplay the importance of being competent with a pencil or paint brush, I believe technology really can level the playing field for our kids. Some of these lessons became all the more relevant with lockdowns and online learning.
