12 Values Talk

The YCYW 12 Values are at the heart of our Yew Chung Yew Wah approach to education. These 12 Values are at the core of the culture and environment that we have at YCYW. It is this environment, through interaction, which leads to the internal transformation of each individual at YCYW.

The 12 Values were first identified and documented by Dr. Sanders-Smith based on her in-classroom research, into the ECE curriculum, culture and pedagogy. Our CPDD department has continued working on elaborating the values using triangulation methodology, in the aim to see how these values are expressed in our Primary and Secondary, and eventually to all school sectors.

In this session, we will be sharing the progress of this revision by introducing the updates of the 12 values language, the rationale and educational stories behind the revision, and inviting your participation in data collection. We hope through this workshop to help each of us develop a deeper understanding of the core values at the heart of our Yew Chung Yew Wah approach to education across all sections.

12价值观讲座

12价值观是耀中耀华教育的核心。在“环境”“互动”“演化”三者的交互作用中，创造出了我们独特的学校环境和教育文化，而这正是12价值观着意记录和反映的。

12价值观最先由Sanders-Smith博士根据她对ECE课程、文化、教学法的观察与研究提出。在此基础上，机构课程专业发展部通过文献搜集与访谈等方法，继续展开对价值观的阐述与理解，以纳入价值观对中小学的考虑，更好地回应广泛的学段与学校部门。

在本环节中，我们将与机构同仁们分享截至目前的工作成果，包括：12价值观的最新表述、表述背后的教育故事与逻辑等，同时我们也将以活动形式邀请您参与其中。希望通过此次分享，加深我们对耀中耀华人的理解与认同，在价值观的叙事框架中更好地看到学生、看待环境与自己。
