Abstract: How can educators nurture students' unique capabilities amidst rapid technological advancements? How can AI help my day-to-day teaching? What is ‘ethical’ in the realm of AI education? First you will get an overview of what tools are out there to use AI to help you teach and the students learn. But this is not just a look at what tools we can use now, however useful, it is a chance to learn the broader implications AI will have on the nature of teaching and learning beyond the useful apps.
We also address the importance of future-proofing students by developing skills that will help them thrive in a world influenced by AI. Adaptability, resilience, and a lifelong learning mindset are highlighted as essential skills for students. Additionally, we discuss how educators can leverage AI as a tool to support student learning and cultivate these essential skills. Throughout the presentation, we emphasize the ethical considerations surrounding AI in education, including data privacy, algorithmic bias, and responsible use of AI technologies. By promoting transparency, equity, and inclusivity, we can ensure that AI in education is harnessed in a way that benefits all learners.
The presentation concludes with practical strategies and recommendations for educators to embrace AI while prioritizing the development of human intelligence. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the current state of AI in education and actionable steps to nurture students' unique capabilities for an ever-changing future driven by AI.
Next, we delve into the concept of human intelligence and its enduring relevance in the AI context. We discuss the distinctive qualities that define human intelligence, such as critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence, and social skills.
